Public warehouses are warehouses like ours here in Memphis who provide third party logistics, also known as 3PL, services for various customers. Usually our customers are companies needing a small amount of space to store inventory and additional services like kitting, order fulfillment, and LTL freight shipping. We provide these services and many others to our customers so they can focus on the other aspects of their business.
Many companies realize the value inherent in contracting with public warehouses because it frees up resources they’d otherwise have to devote to storage and shipping of their goods. Public warehouses eliminate the extra expenses of storage facilities, material handling equipment, and personnel. Because we provide these services to many customers, the cost to each is far less than what it would be if they had dedicated divisions for logistics.
